The Didier Drogba Foundation is highly active in the fight to reduce the digital divide by facilitating access to computer tools for students who are most disadvantaged or discriminated against.

Today's action involved this organization led by the Ivorian football legend, in partnership with the Ippon Foundation, equipping three classrooms with digital equipment in the town of N’Douci, located about a hundred kilometers from Abidjan. These three classrooms are located in two institutions: Lycée moderne Bad and Groupe scolaire N’Douci.

The donation includes 30 computers, 30 headsets, educational software, printers, UPS units, a one-year internet subscription for each of the three digitized rooms including a phone line, and a one-year subscription to a digital library providing access to 1.5 million books.

The official donation ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Lycée Bad where Mariam Breka, the executive director of the Didier Drogba Foundation, explained the reasons behind this gesture. "Through this action, Presidents Didier Drogba and Stéphane Nomis wish to demonstrate their commitment to the dissemination of knowledge, the reduction of the digital divide, and the promotion of sharing and solidarity as drivers of development and peace," she said.

Mariam Breka also thanked the Ippon Foundation, represented on this occasion by its executive director, Émilie Endeole, as well as the administrative authorities of N’Douci and all teaching staff and parents for their contribution to the realization of these classrooms.

In turn, Anoma Béatrice, the departmental director of national education in Tiassalé, expressed her gratitude to the donors before asking the students to take care of the received equipment.
To date, 12 digital classrooms have been established and donated by the Didier Drogba Foundation and its partner Ippon in several locations in Côte d'Ivoire, and the two donors do not intend to stop there. The goal is to offer four digital rooms per year to different schools in Côte d'Ivoire.
