Young athletes from the municipalities of Yopougon and Abobo committed on Friday to be ambassadors of social cohesion and peace, following a soccer game organized at the Yopougon Sports Complex. These youths, selected by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in partnership with the Didier Drogba Foundation, will help promoting peace and social cohesion within their community.

"To win the match of peace and social cohesion, you must behave like an athlete, train hard for social cohesion, play as a team, accept others, have strategies to overcome violence, demonstrate tolerance and selflessness, and encourage peace —two important values for the country's stability, one year before the presidential elections," advised Fujino Kojiro, the Resident Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, to the new peace ambassadors.
On behalf of the young peace ambassadors, Mawa Yéo expressed gratitude to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Didier Drogba Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, for initiating the project to strengthen minicipalities for the promotion of social cohesion. Their aim is to inspire leadership in each of them to succeed in their own mission.

With the slogan "All united despite our differences!", the young sports ambassadors of social cohesion and peace formed two mixed teams for this match: the Ambassadors of Social Cohesion and the Angels of Peace.

This commitment of young athletes is part of the soccer event called "Sport, a Vector of Social Cohesion," organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Didier Drogba Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, as noted.
