The Didier Drogba Foundation were on the field to assist Ivorian populations to cope with the Covid-19 health crisis, in the morning of Monday, April 6, 2020, led by the new Executive Director of the Foundation, Ms. Mariam Breka,  in the Treichville-Abidjan district alongside the Magic System Foundation and the European Union.

"We are here today to discuss a very serious matter. Covid-19, as it's called, is a disease that can lead to death. It has already killed thousands of people worldwide. And now, it is here with us... To support the government's strategy, the Didier Drogba Foundation has taken some measures and planned couple of actions, such as the distribution of 5000 food kits in several districts of Abidjan, including Treichville," said Mariam Breka in her address.

In front of elected officials and authorities of the district, the new Director of the Drogba Foundation committed to raise awareness, educate, and guide all Ivorian social sphere to stand against this scourge. This determination was shared by Didier Drogba himself, who left all necessary instructions to ensure that this mutual aid operation goes smoothly.

Thus, 5000 kits provided by the Didier Drogba Foundation complemented another 5000 from the European Union and Magic System, for disadvantaged and struggling populations during these difficult times in the Abidjan District. The kit contents include rice bags, oil bottles, sugar bags, soap cartons, and especially 500ml bottles of hydroalcoholic gel. This active solidarity against Covid-19 aims to already help 5000 families cope with this challenging health crisis.

The Didier Drogba Foundation is leading this large-scale operation with the European Union (EU) and the Magic System Foundation. "This vision is also shared by the Magic System Foundation and the European Union, which naturally led us to jointly lead this solidarity charter by pooling our human, material, and financial resources to alleviate the maximum number of people," emphasized Mariam Breka.

After Treichville, the caravan will move to other minicipalities, including Marcory, Koumassi, Port Bouet, Bingerville, and many others, particularly in the rural areas.
